Streets Coachways Coach Hire History

Streets Coachways started trading on 1st February 1964, it was taken over from Mr Fred Guard Ltd. By Mr Morris Street, it consisted of two coaches a Bedford 29 Seater and a Crossley Half cab 33 seater, and 3 contracts.

After a lot of hard work and getting to know people and to getting our name established we expanded and obtained extra operators licenses to 8 vehicles for some years.

In the early 1970`s we obtained licenses to run continental tours and we spent a lot of time in Europe as this was the only thing not done in the area by other operators.

This went on until 1985/1986 when the government did away with licenses for tours abroad, which ment we could also do British Tours as well, which we did until 1990`s.

Morris's son Steve joined the company in 1973 as Mechanic and has worked for the company ever since maintaining the coaches and driving when needed.

We now concentrate on Private hire, school contracts, school trips and airport transfers.

We now have 12 coaches from 70 seats being the largest 53 seats, 33 seats, and 16 seats down to 8 seats.
